MATT GHINGA IS "ABOVE ALL" Bandito Alum Matt Ghinga did it on and off the field, now Matt will do it in the air. Matt played baseball for Air Force Academy Falcons and was not just successful at the plate but in the classroom as well. Matt recently graduated from the Air Force Academy and is pictured here receiving his diploma from President George W. Bush. Matt was a member of the first Banditos National Championship team. Congratulations Matt Ghinga for your accomplishments!

These 3 Banditos sign a National Letter Of Intent to play baseball at respected D-1 College Powerhouses. They learned to play the game the right way. DAVID MACIAS SEC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

4/14/2008 NASHVILLE- Senior outfielder David Macias was named the Southeastern Conference Hitter of the Week today by the league office.
Macias was the catalyst for Vanderbilt's 5-0 week and first sweep over Mississippi State in Starkville since 1914. The Commodore lead-off hitter went 13-for-23 (.565) with a double, triple, homer and four RBI with nine runs scored in five games overall. He was 8-for-15 (.533) against State with a .933 slugging percentage and .588 on base percentage. The Woodlands, Texas, native tripled in the ninth on Sunday against Mississippi State relief ace Aaron Weatherford and scored what would be the deciding run in a 4-3 win. He currently leads the team in hitting at .386 (third in the SEC) and has a career high six homers this season from the leadoff spot. It is the first weekly honor for Vanderbilt this season and the first for Macias in his career.
