2012 Bandito Draftees - Courtney Hawkins (White Sox), CJ Hinojosa (Astros), Austin Dean (Marlins), Nick Williams (Rangers)
Ten high school Bandito players were drafted in this year's 2012 MLB Draft. Leading the pack, Courtney Hawkins was picked 13th overall to the Chicago White Sox. Nick Williams was picked in the second round to the Texas Rangers. Austin Dean wasn't far behind being picked in the fourth round to the Miami Marlins. Jeremy Kivel and Avain Rachal - Cincinnatti Reds, Tejay Antone - New York Mets, Griffin Russell - San Diego Padres, CJ Hinojosa - Houston Astros, Jackson McClellan - Pittsburgh Pirates, Cody Poteet - Washington Nationals. CJ Hinojosa & Cody Poteet were members of the 155-0 team...a record that has yet to be broken by another team. 9 of the 10 drafted played together this past summer and it was definitely really fun to watch. Congratulations to all these players and their families! You guys make great role models for younger Banditos! Always remember, the hard part isn't getting there...it's staying there. Good luck!
